Drawing from his background as a celebrity hairstylist and award-winning filmmaker, Anastasis has an innately deep understanding of form in three-dimensional space. He deepens this relationship in his process-driven sculpture practice. While the artwork is what physically remains, for Anastasis, the art is as much in the making as it is in the product. The creation is a meditative release and ritualistic transfer of energy. Whether in sculpture or imagemaking, these relics of process celebrate motion, aliveness, and mystery.
Anastasis has exhibited work in New York and has won awards for his films at the Milan International Filmmaker Festival, Berlin International Filmmaker Festival, and the L.A. Shorts Awards. He received a degree in Fashion Design & Technology from the London College of Fashion (1995).
